Rolls Royce Installation

Water Jet Sweden's new NC4020 duplex is now installed at Rolls Royce's state of the art facility in Singapore.
The purpose built site is nearing full operation and our waterjet machine is ready to start cutting the Trent engine fan blades it was chosen for.
Precision, accuracy and intelligent Swedish design were major factors in the global company's choice of equipment, coupled with the problem free operation of their existing Water Jet Sweden machine in the UK.
Fitted with two, independant, cutting heads it gives the flexibilty of dual production.
The remote Siemens control allows the operator to run the machine from a seperate room from where the machine is sited.
With future growth in aerospace expected to come from the Far East Water Jet Sweden and Rolls Royce were natural partners in this exciting new venture.

World’s Only Comedy Carpet

It’s not often you walk down the street, looking at the floor laughing – but if you head to Blackpool you might just start.
Unveiled yesterday, by famous comedian Ken Dodd, is the world’s largest accessible show of public art of its type. Situated at the foot of Blackpool Tower, this masterpiece of design was drafted and cut using two Water Jet Sweden machines. The 1,880m sq installation features 160,000 individually cut granite letters spelling out well known quotes and catchphrases from famous comedians, past and present.
The £4m project has taken three years from cutting to completion and will be on show for generations to come to visit and enjoy.
Water Jet Sweden was involved from the beginning of the project, advising on the design and specification of the necessary systems required and our bespoke NC3015 and NC4020 D machines were chosen for their robust and reliable design, to complete the huge amount of cutting.
Graham Cain, of Blackpool Council, said: “It's a truly unique work of accessible public art. There's already a huge amount of interest in the carpet and I'm looking forward to seeing people enjoy it.”
Water Jet Sweden is immensely proud to be associated with such a unique project and hope you can visit Blackpool and enjoy it too.

Pure Water System Ready For The Challenge

At Water Jet Sweden we offer over 90 different systems to tailor to your needs. Another example is the NC2530 QL, a bespoke pure water cutting change table machine, specifically designed for the customer's individual requirements.
8 cutting heads gives maximum flexibility and capacity of production as well as high speed height sensing to keep things running smoothly.
It's also equipped with two optional drilling heads to meet any job required.
The machine comes with front and rear loading to allow non stop cutting and efficient operation to save money.

Collision Protection Produces Results

At Water Jet Sweden we're continuing to develop innovative technologies, and additions to our systems, to ensure we maintain our position as Europe’s leading waterjet manufacturer.
With every business looking to make savings and run their operations more efficiently we know the finest details can make a big difference. That’s why we’ve developed our patented splash protection and collision sensor.
During cutting it’s possible for smaller cut material to move and cause the possibility of a collision. This can cause damage to the cutting nozzle and create unnecessary downtime. Our system prevents this by sensing an obstacle between the sensor and material and immediately shutting off, both, the water and sand supply as well as placing the machine into feed hold.
The system is available as an option on all size machine tables and is mounted directly onto the nozzle to protect the cutting head when operating in 2D.
Ronny Martinsson, WJS Head of Technical Development, said: “We have some customers who cut extremely small work pieces, who’ve opted for the collision protection, and have reported no nozzle damage at all. It shows our continued commitment to making the best waterjet system on the market.”

Open House 2011

Customer and suppliers gathered for our annual Open House, in Ronneby, recently. It was a chance to see the latest developments from Water Jet Sweden, and our chosen partners, and to preview what’s coming to the market place in the near future.
Customer were treated to cutting demonstrations on our state of the art 3D BevelJet cutting head as well as our innovative Finecut system.
CAD/CAM demonstrations and workshops were available as well as handy tips and technical information as to the best ways to cut a range of different materials.
Water Jet Sweden also unveiled a bespoke NC60150 D ready for delivery. The custom made system comes equipped with a 6m x 15m cutting table and, both, 2D and 3D BevelJet cutting capabilities.
WJS CEO Lennart Svensson said: “Our Open House is a great way for customers to see the possibilities available with Water Jet Sweden. To come face to face with our technical and sales team and get an in depth look at why we’re Europe’s leading supplier. To explore our factory and see why our build quality is second to none. It was such a great success that I can’t wait for next year’s, which will be even better.”

Rolls Royce Choose Water Jet Sweden for Expansion

Water Jet Sweden, Europe’s Leading Supplier of 2D and 3D Water Jet Cutting Equipment, is pleased to announce a further order from Rolls Royce plc for the supply of a new abrasive waterjet cutting machine. The machine will be housed in Rolls Royce’s brand new, purpose built, facility in Singapore and will be used in the manufacture of wide chord fan blades for the Trent aero engines.
Rolls Royce already use a Water Jet Sweden machine in the building of the Trent engine but this, state-of-the-art, facility is the first to be built outside of the UK and will help with increased global demand.
The NC4020 D was chosen for its reliability, accuracy and durability during production so that blades can be manufactured the whole year round.
It further strengthens the existing relationship between Rolls Royce and Water Jet Sweden and CEO Lennart Svensson said: “It’s great news and will provide Rolls Royce with further precision manufacturing capabilities. This underlines the increasing demand in the aerospace industry and is just another in a long line of major companies choosing Water Jet Sweden.”
